Vishwanath Temple

Vishwanath Temple is a famous and ancient religious temple located in Uttarkashi. This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Uttarkashi was called the township of Vishwanath in ancient times. Vishwanath temple was established by Parashuram Ji and Vishwanath Bhagwan appeared in the temple under Jyotirling. According to the belief, almost as the structure of stones, this temple was constructed by Garhwal King Pradyumna Shah. Later, this temple was restored in 1857 by Maharani Kanti, wife of her son King Sudarshan Shah, and it is also believed that this temple was built by King Gyaneshwar. Dodi Tal is a famous lake located in Uttarkashi. Dodital is a Panna lake surrounded by high mountains at an altitude of about 3310 meters above sea level. This Tal is one of the most beautiful high altitude lakes of North India due to its quiet and beautiful atmosphere. The name of Dodital is named after the rare Himalayan brown trown species of fishes. This lake is one of the very few water bodies, where Himalayan brown trown is found. Dodital is considered a mysterious tal. According to legends, this tal is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha. This tal is also known as the of Ganesh lake or Ganesh Tal.
