Fair at Gauchar in Gauchar, Uttarakhand

Gauchar Fair is a famous fair to be held in Gauchar of Chamoli district. This famous fair starts on November 14 and continues for one week. This fair is known as Gauchar's historic trade fair. This fair is organized on 14th November on the occasion of the birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The fair was organized in the year 1943 to increase the trade of Indo-Tibet China. In the year 1962, the fair remained closed after the war between India and China. Then the fair started again on the initiative of Uttar Pradesh Government. This fair has become popular all over Uttarakhand due to coordination of culture, market and industry all three.
