Atri Muni Ashram is a famous holy ashram located in Gopeshwar of Chamoli district. This ashram is dedicated to a great sage AtriMuni. AtriMuni is one of the Saptrishis. AtriMuni was the husband of Goddess Sati Anusuya.
Atri Muni's ashram is situated about 1 km from the Anusuya Devi temple. This ashram is built within a cave on a rock. To go to the ashram, have to go climb the chains of iron made on the rock, And after that, has to go recumbence down through a thin cave.
It is said about this cave that, if in this cave is to be entered from the head side, it can easily be crossed, and get trapped in the cave after going from the foot side. There is a beautiful waterfall next to this ashram, which falls below a lot of height.
It is said that after travelling of the Anasuya Devi temple it is necessary to travelling of AtriMuni Ashram, otherwise, the journey is considered incomplete.
