Uma Devi Temple is a famous temple located in Karnaprayag of Chamoli district. In this temple is worshipped in 'Katyayani' form of Mata Parvati. In the early years of the 20th century, the Uma Devi temple came into existence. It is said about this temple, that this holy temple is the only place, where Mata Parvati to receive Lord Shiva as the husband, By keeping the Nirjala fast, Lord Shiva was worshipped. Establishment of this temple was done by Adi Guru Shankaracharya in the 8th century.
