Abbott Mount in Lohaghat, Uttarakhand

Abbott Mount is a famous tourist site located in Lohaghat of Champawat district. This place is situated at an altitude of about 6450 feet above sea level. This place is situated in the eastern part of the Kumaon hills near the Kali river border, about 8 km from Lohaghat. Abbott Mount was established in the 20th century by an English businessman named John Harold Abbott. Hence its name kept was "Abbott Mount". This place was settled during the British rule. This place is situated in the lap of the Kumaon Himalayas, from which there is a spectacular view of the snowy peaks of the Himalayas appears. Abbott Mount is famous all over the world for its beauty. On the top of Abbott Mount, there is an open ground, European bungalow garden and orchards are situated on its slope. This place is located in the middle of dense forests.

Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of heavy rains threatening landslides.
