Kandoliya Temple is a famous holy temple located in Pauri. This temple is about 2 km away from Pauri. This temple is dedicated to the Kandoliya deity, which is the local land deity. In this temple, Lord Shiva is worshipped as the Kandoliya deity. The beautiful park and sports complex are also situated near this temple. Religious belief that many years ago, a woman from Kumaon was married to Dungriyal Negi caste in Pauri village. After the marriage, she woman brought her clan deity in a Kandee (small basket). Since then, these gods of Kumaon came to be known as "Kandoliya Deity" and their worship was started has been done in Pauri village. It is believed that later Kandoliya deity came to the dream of a person of the village and said that my place should be made at a higher place. After this, the Kandoliya deity was established on the hill situated above the town of Pauri. In the year 1989, the residents of Pauri village started the tradition of duly worshipping the temple of Kandoliya deity, since then, there is a three-day worship festival every year. This temple is the main centre of faith.
