Ardhanarishwar Temple In Guptkashi Uttarakhand


Ardhanarishwar temple is a small famous temple located in Guptkashi in Rudraprayag district. This holy temple is about 2 km away from Guptkashi. Ardhanarishwar temple is situated at an altitude of about 1340 meters above sea level. This famous holy temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, whose is worshipped in this temple as half male and half women. The word 'Ardhanarishwar' means half male and half female. In this temple, Lord Shiva a half male and Goddess Parvati are in the form of half female. Ardhanarishwar Temple is situated on the left side of the famous Vishwanath temple. This temple is a beautiful stone temple built of many Hindu architectures. The architectural style of this temple is similar to other temples in Uttarakhand. Nandi's metal statue is installed at the entrance to this temple. This temple has a huge religious significance.
