Manikarnik Kund in Guptkashi, Uttarakhand

The Manikarnik Kund is a holy kund located in Guptkashi in Rudraprayag district. This holy Kund is about 2 km away from Guptkashi. Manikarnik Kund is situated at an altitude of about 1340 meters above sea level. This holy Kund is situated right in front of the temple in the Vishwanath temple premises. In this sacred kund, two streams of water turn out, from the mouth of the first cow and from the mouth of the second elephant. It is believed that to Shivaling is bathed with the water of these both sources, because it is believed that the water of two sources is coming from two holy rivers, the river Ganga and the Yamuna. The Manikarnik Kund is a small kund, which is quite famous at this place. This holy kund can also be seen during Vishwanath temple visit.
