Keshorai Math in Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand

Keshorai Math is a famous temple located in Srinagar Garhwal of Uttarakhand state. This temple is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda river. In 1682 AD, this temple was built by Keshorai during the reign of Mahipati Shah, that is the reason that In the name of their, this temple is called "Keshorai Math". Along with the sinking of Srinagar town in the flood of 1894 AD, this temple was completely submerged in the sand. Even after the upper part of the temple was demolition in the flood, this temple stood. It is said that while to visit Badrinath, Keshorai went olden. During the journey, he came to this place and slept. While sleeping, he came a dream. In the dream, Lord Narayan asked to dig him where he kept sleeping. When he started digging, her found a statue of Narayana and he established a temple there, and installed that statue inside the temple. Made with large Shila, the artistry of this temple is very beautiful.

Best Time To Visit

The journey of Keshorai Math can be done throughout the year, but the best time to visit here is between the months of October to May. Travelling here in these months is the best and enjoyable. During the winter season, the weather of here is cold. Due to snowfall on the surrounding hills in the winter season, the temperature of here goes down very much. Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of heavy rains threatening landslides.
