Bhairavnath Temple in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand

Bhairavnath Temple is located in Kedarnath of Uttarakhand state, this temple is situated on a hill north of the famous Kedarnath temple. Bhairavnath temple is one of the main temples in Kedarnath.

This sacred temple is dedicated to Lord Bhairav. Bhairav is considered to be a gana of Lord Shiva. Bhairav Baba's weapon is trishul and vehicle is a dog.

It is believed that after the closure of the Kedarnath temple due to snowfall in the winter season, Bhairavnath deity protects the Kedarnath temple with this entire valley. Bhairavnath is known as Kshetrapal, which means "protecting the area".

The best time to travel to the Bhairavnath Temple is between from the months of September to November and April to Jun. Travelling here in these months is the best and enjoyable. In the winter season, the journey of here is closed for 6 months. During the winter season, the weather of here is cold.

Due to heavy snowfall in the winter season, the temperature of here goes down very much.

Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of heavy rains threatening landslides.
