Shankaracharya Samadhi Kedarnath Uttarakhand

Shree Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi is situated in Kedarnath, which is situated right behind the temple. Adi Guru Shankaracharya was a great scholar and saint, who established the sacred four Dham of India. At the age of 32, Adi Guru Shankaracharya went away in Samadhi. Adi Guru Shankaracharya is known as a famous Hindu philosopher Guru. It is believed that the present form of holy Kedarnath temple was built by Adi Guru Shankaracharya in the 8th century AD.

The nearest railway station to Kedarnath is Rishikesh. Rishikesh railway station is situated 216kms before Kedarnath on NH58. Rishikesh is well connected by railway networks with major destinations of India.

By Road

This place is situated just behind the Kedarnath temple. Visitors can board regular buses from Rishikesh to Kedarnath.

Best Time To Visit:-

The best time to travel to the Shankaracharya Samadhi is between from the months of September to November and April to Jun. Travelling here in these months is the best and enjoyable. In the winter season, the journey of here is closed for 6 months. During the winter season, the weather of here is cold. Due to heavy snowfall in the winter season, the temperature of here goes down very much. Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of heavy rains threatening landslides.
