Deoria Tal is a beautiful natural lake situated in the Chopta of Uttarakhand state. This lake is located at an altitude of 2440 meters above sea level. Deoria Tal is a beautiful lake of clear crystal water. It is believed that the Gods had taken a bath in this lake, hence the lake is also known as "Indra Sarovar". According to mythology, it is believed that the Pandavas at this place were asked questions by Yaksha. To reach this lake, there is a trek of 3 km, which begins with Chopta's Saari village. This place offers a spectacular view of snowy peaks like Chaukhamba, Neelkanth and Kedar Range. This lake is surrounded by one side dense forest between the beautiful hill. This is an ideal place for trekking lovers. It is one of the main attractions centres of lake Chopta.

The best time to visit Deoria Tal is between the months of September to November and March to May. Travelling here in these months is the best and enjoyable. During the winter season, the weather of here is cold. Due to heavy snowfall in the winter season, the temperature of here goes down very much. Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of heavy rains threatening landslides.
