Milam Glacier Trek
Milam Glacier is a famous glacier located in Munsiyari of Pithoragarh district. Milam Glacier is the largest glacier of the Kumaon area of Uttarakhand state. This glacier is situated at an altitude of about 5,500 meters above sea level. This glacier is the main source of the river Gori Ganga. This glacier is on the slope towards the south of the Himalayan range. The journey of here was closed in the year 1962, which was later reopened in the year 1994. Milam village is situated near this glacier. Millim glacier trek has to go through many villages, green alpine meadows, dense forests and rocks. This is an ideal place for trekking lovers and nature lovers. Lilam village is about 11 km from Munsiyari. Bugadyar is about 15 km away from this village, where is the police post of India-Tibet. From here, the trekkers who go to the Milam glacier are do registration. Milam Glacier Trek is one of the popular trekking places of Uttarakhand state.
