The Saptarishi Kund has located about 10 km from the Yamunotri temple. The Saptarishi kund is located near the Champasar glacier located in the upper part of the Bandarpoonch mountain. This kund is about 4422 meters above sea level. It is believed that the seven great sage Kashyap, Atri, Bhardwaj, Vishwamitra, Gautam, Jamdagni and Vashishta had performed penance in this Kund in the ancient period, hence this Kund is known as Saptarishi Kund. The water of this kund is dark blue in color, the water of the nearby glacier is gathered in this kund. In the valley around this kund, the holy Brahma Kamal flowers are also found. This is an ideal place for trekking lovers. The trek of the Saptarishi kund is considered difficult because its route is covered with snow and passes through a dense forest and rugged hills terrain.
