St John Wilderness Church Nainital Uttarakhand

St John Wilderness Church is a famous church located in Nainital. This church is situated near the Uttarakhand High Court in Mallital of Nainital. It is one of the oldest and best churches in Nainital. This is an Anglican church, which was built in the year 1846. In the year 1844, Bishop Daniel Wilson of Kolkata visited of here to lay the foundation of this church. During the visit, Bishop Daniel Wilson became ill and he had to live in an incomplete house, which was the edge of the forest. Therefore, this church was named St. John's Wilderness Church. This church built in Neo-Gothic style architecture. This church is amidst the dense forests of pine and deodar trees. This church is famous for stained-glass windows. This is one of the most beautiful buildings, which is very beautifully constructed. Not only Christians but also people from all communities visit this church.
