Tapkeshwar Temple is a famous temple located in Dehradun, which is a popular natural cave temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is situated on the banks of a migratory river. It is said that inside the cave, on Shivling continuously from rocks water droplets keep dripping and the water droplets fall naturally on Shivling. Which is why this temple was named "Tapkeshwar Temple". It is believed that Shivling existent here was manifested by itself. There is the statue of all gods and goddesses in the Tapkeshwar temple. There is also a huge statue of Lord Hanuman Ji near this temple. This temple is also considered by as Sidhipith. It is believed that in this cave Guru Dronacharya received the knowledge of 'Dhanurvidhya' after doing penance of Lord Shiva. This is the reason that this holy place is also called the 'austerity venue' of Guru Dronacharya Ji. A temple of Maa Vaishno Devi has also been built in this temple.
